Despite my best intentions, I was not out of bed early enough on Saturday morning for the usual Dog Park excursion. Instead, Harper had a nice long walk in the neighborhood followed a bit of an (illegal) off-leash romp in the nearby park. If she was disappointed she did not let on.
Taking advantage of the cooler weather, I took her to Horizon Dog Park on Saturday afternoon. It was a nice day but the gang was a little more subdued; mostly opting for hanging out under the trees and pondering the secrets of the universe; or whatever it is they think about when they don’t appear to be doing anything.
Sunday it was back to the usual, dawn at the Scottsdale Chaparral Dog Park. The days are getting shorter so we need to start leaving a little later. When we arrived it was not quite light yet and there were only 3 other dogs in the park. An hour later, however, there were 25-30 and the cooler weather made for some serious fun.
Harper’s BFF du jour was Penny. They wrestled around and chased each other until they were both soaked in each other’s drool. Harper knew a bath was in her future when we got home.
Afterward they formed a welcoming committee to check out all the new arrivals to determine who was ‘quality’.
