A fellow blogger and I occasionally swap notes about the annoying drama that seems to exist within the Find A Grave community. But sometimes things happen that just make me smile.
I fulfilled a photo request at a cemetery in Scottsdale this morning. I didn’t think too much about it. I had some errands to run in that part of town and I knew it would only take 15 minutes to swing by and take the picture. After I posted it I received the nicest thank-you note. It said;
Thank you for shooting and placing the beautiful photos for [XXX] today. You are very gracious.
[He] is the father of my little daughter-in-law and she didn’t get to attend her father’s funeral, nor does she know I’ve finally located him – we live in California. She takes good care of me since my husband died – and I love her very much. Your photos and a list of her lost family genealogy is her Christmas gift this year.
See what good works you have done?
I am not normally one to be mawkish but I found this quite touching.
