As always; thanks to Sean at Just A Jeep Guy for another terrific set of TMI Questions
HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
1. Do you have any Irish in you? Would you like some?
Both sides of my mother’s family had their roots in Ireland. My father’s family had roots in both Ireland and Scotland. Coincidentally timed to arrive at St. Patrick’s Day, Ancestry.com sent out an announcement offering free access to Irish genealogical records for a limited time. I don’t have much info on the family in Ireland but I may see what I can learn.
2. Do you wear green?
There is a fair amount of green in the closet, actually the selfie in the upper right on this blog is me wearing an “Ireland” jersey. I don’t necessary wear green on St. Patrick’s Day, however. My family was protestant so the Irish heritage color is orange. Also, as Ulstermen, they tended not to observe the saints’ days.
3. Green beer is…
Something to drink in college. I did. I haven’t since.
4. Irish coffee is…
Unappetizing on all levels.
I don’t like the taste of coffee or anything coffee or “mocha” flavored.
I generally don’t drink whiskey (nor whisky).
I don’t usually care for beverages served warm… except hot cocoa a couple of times each year.
5. Have you worn a kilt?
Nope – but I would love to do so at some point. I think I have the legs for it.
6. Have you gone to the NY St. Patrick’s Day Parade?
Nope – not even Chicago’s, and that was much more accessible
7. St. Patrick chased the snakes out of Ireland with a stick. How would you handle snakes?
Screaming like a little girl and running in the opposite direction are tactics that have taken me to this point in my life so I’m sticking with them.
I’m 100% Irish. Would you kiss me?
Assuming “I’m” and “me” in this sentence refer to Sean so the obvious answer is; “OH HELL YES!
